…..I’m Mary, a qualified therapeutic counsellor accredited with the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP).

I am curious by nature about people, their lives and their experiences and how a range of factors including family of origin, culture, social and economic status intersect to shape and sometimes constrain them. I use my understanding to help people improve their emotional and mental health and their overall quality of life. I firmly believe that therapy provides a unique relational space for this to happen.

In addition to my accredited registration with the BACP, I hold a Masters in Psychology from Roehampton University. I am currently undertaking doctoral training in Counselling Psychology at Metanoia Institute, London. I am a graduate member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and a member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and I follow the ethical guidelines of these organisations. In addition to my doctorate, I regularly undertake continuing professional development (CPD) to ensure I am working to the best of my ability for all my clients. I also have regular clinical supervision with an experienced counsellor and psychotherapist to enhance my practice.

“Life as a therapist is a life of service in which we daily transcend our personal wishes and turn our gaze toward the needs and growth of the other. We take pleasure not only in the growth of our patient but also in the ripple effect—the salutary influence our patients have upon those whom they touch in life.”
